ACT! for Windows includes a facility to design and save layouts that display contact data while in the Contact View, and that display group data while in the Group View. If a user needs to see different "forms" of this data, they can build and save multiple layouts, and select an appropriate one whenever necessary.
ACT! also allows the user to change the columns displayed in the Contact List View, along with their sequence and width. However, there is no way to name or save any of these "designs"; if a user needs different sets of field columns, in different sequences, for different tasks, they must re-build each design each time.
Contact List Designer provides the capability to name and save any Contact List View configuration, and to select and use any previously saved configuration whenever the Contact List View is active.

(Users of Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT should refer to the article in the Microsoft Knowledgebase regarding the MS Jet Engine v4.0 to obtain proper support for the MS Access 2000 database used in support of Contact List Designer.
You may need to download and install a "patch" that loads required files into your Windows system.)

To install Contact List Designer in free "trial" mode:
- Download the installation file
(Install_ContactListDesigner.exe),
and remember where you saved it.
- Shut down all running programs.
- Run the installation file from where you saved it in step 1.
- Note: All products install into the c:\program files\tnhg folder.

The New Hampton Group has developed a number of ACT! add-on utilities and products that enhance ACT!'s capabilities. These products are available for free download as "trial" software - after installation, they will run in "crippled" mode (only a limited number of records per execution) or only for a limited amount of time (30 days after installation) or for a limited number of uses (30 or 50 executions).
Any product can be "registered" by clicking the "Register Now" button in the upper left corner of the application window. Click the "Print Reg Form" button to display a registration form. Copy the User Code 1 and User Code 2 values onto the Registration form and provide the requested payment information.
