Clear Group Memberships

Clear all the group memberships in an ACT!5 or later database.

ACT! 5.02 and higher provide Group Membership Rules, that assign contact membership in one or more groups, based on the content of the fields on the contact record.

However, Group Membership Rules only ADD contacts to groups – they will NOT remove a contact from a group when that contact no longer meets the condition(s) of the rule.

For accurate group membership, all group memberships must be CLEARED before running the Group Membership Rules in ACT!.

Various techniques and facilities are available for running the Group Membership Rules, both interactively in the currently open ACT! database, and as a “batch” process, either on a scheduled basis or directly from the Start > Run command.

Clear Group Memberships provides a similar means to perform this “preparation” step as a “batch” process, on a scheduled basis or directly from the Start > Run command.

To install Clear Group Memberships in free "trial" mode:
  1. Download the installation file
    (Install_ClearGroupMemberships.exe),
    and remember where you saved it.
  2. Shut down all running programs.
  3. Run the installation file from where you saved it in step 1.
  4. Note: All products install into the c:\program files\tnhg folder.
The New Hampton Group has developed a number of ACT! add-on utilities and products that enhance ACT!'s capabilities. These products are available for free download as "trial" software - after installation, they will run in "crippled" mode (only a limited number of records per execution) or only for a limited amount of time (30 days after installation) or for a limited number of uses (30 or 50 executions).

Any product can be "registered" by clicking the "Register Now" button in the upper left corner of the application window. Click the "Print Reg Form" button to display a registration form. Copy the User Code 1 and User Code 2 values onto the Registration form and provide the requested payment information.
